General question about the ease of management of UC systems. I am a Cisco Consultant and am trying to determine if it is worth my time to develop some admin tools for Cisco UC, to help make systems easier to manage and day to day tasks quicker and less error prone.

What specifically do you have in mind for Cisco, is it around call manager or something else. The Cisco systems seem difficult at best are you looking for better integration between the various Cisco tools?

Specifically I am thinking of developing a tool to centrally manage the Cisco UC Suite of products (UCCM, Unity Connection, Presence, UCCX, Meetingplace, etc... One interface to manage all the systems eliminate duplicaiton of effort and use templates and copy features to make management easy.
Is there a need? and what is it worth?

Hi There is certainly a need, it seems that all the cisco tools are a disparate mix of different applications and this is the bain of any usage and adoption.

It's value would be enormous, it's a question of how easily you could do this, package it up and take it too market.

I would imagine it is going to take a huge investment though, and no doubt Cisco is aware of their shortcomings and will they try and address this themselves.?, history shows that they havnt but you would have to wonder when are they going to bring it all together into a single user interface?
