This position is part of CDW's Advanced Technology Services Cisco Practice, a single-source provider to our clients for all things Cisco. We have more than 125 Cisco Certified Engineers on staff, including engineers for network infrastructure, unified communications, contact center, unified communications application development, security, storage and wireless. With more than seven years of Voice over IP experience, Berbee has completed more than 1,300 Cisco IP Communication projects. CDW ATS is the first Cisco channel partner worldwide to earn Master Specialization status in Unified Communications and Security. CDW is a Cisco Gold Certified Partner and has been named IP Communications Partner of the Year for both 2004 and 2005, marking five straight years of Cisco Partner awards due to our high customer service ratings and advanced technology expertise.
This position is part of our Unified Communications Traveling Team. Extensive travel to support clients throughout the United States will be required.
The incumbent of this position will:
* Perform client consultation: plan, design, implement, and support the voice infrastructure
* Develop and implement the technical architecture and physical design of the network: analyze existing voice and data networks and recommend solutions
* Set up, configure, and test Cisco Call Manager, Unity, Call Manager Express, Unity Express, Cisco LAN switches (core, distribution and access), Cisco firewalls, routers and voice gateways, etc.
* Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems
* Assist Account Managers during the sales process by educating the customer about new technologies and IP Telephony methodology
* Assist in the management of projects using Berbee's project management methodology
* Ensure a stable performance environment for enterprise computer applications
* Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade converged network solutions
* Minimum of two years related experience in infrastructure/network environments, with some experience in network engineering (hardware and software), network security practices and designing, planning and implementing LANs and WANs using the latest technology
* Experience in PBX and/or Call Center systems engineering experience
* Minimum of one year experience in programming or analytical work; consulting experience preferred
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline; equivalent experience acceptable
* CCVP, CCDP, or CCIE certification preferred
* Experience with router configuration, knowledge of voice mail, unified messaging, ACD and IVR systems
* Ability to work weekends and/or off hours as necessary to meet clients' needs
* Willingness to travel up to 25%
* Ability to effectively communicate with clients and end users
