Role Purpose
Microsoft’s Enterprise and Partner Group (EPG) is looking for highly motivated leader with a passion for business development and technology to drive Unified Communications & Collaboration business development across our most important alliance partners.
EPG is comprised of over 6000 enterprise sellers who work to ensure that Microsoft’s largest customers realize the most value from IT investments. EPG’s Redmond based HQ team is responsible for developing the strategies and sales enablers to support our sellers and ensure predictable growth of our Enterprise business
Within EPG, the Alliance Partner Business Development Team is responsible for working with Microsoft’s central Business Groups (BGs) to enable Microsoft’s strategic priorities via Alliances Partners like Accenture, HP, and Infosys.
The Business Development team works to increase partner commitment to the Microsoft software and develop compelling customer value propositions that can be executed via partners. The Business Development team’s success is ultimately be measured by the amount of new revenue, share growth and other strategic goals that are driven via our Alliance Partners.
The Alliance Partner Business Development Team is looking for a highly motivated leader with a passion for business development and technology to drive Unified Communications & Collaboration business development across our most important alliance partners.
The role reports to the Director Business Development - Business Productivity Infrastructure.
Key Accountabilities for Group
The Unified Communications & Collaboration BDM will be accountable for ;
Identifying and quantifying opportunities to drive Unified Communications & Collaboration revenue with leading Services Alliances and win against Cisco and others.
Acting as a trusted strategic advisor and contributor to Business Groups on achieving growth through Enterprise Alliances for Unified Communications & Collaboration.
Designing go-to market value propositions that combine Microsoft and partner strengths
Structuring deals including solutions, marketing, sales, investment, governance that align our interests and the partners and facilitate execution
Ensuring that these deals land successfully in the EPG field and yield the expected results
Providing guidance to EPG leadership on Unified Communications & Collaboration Partner strategy
Key Success Criteria
Successful development and execution of deals with Alliances Partners
Securing commitment from Alliances Partners that support EPG’s goals to gain share in the market place
Achievement of results from the deals
Evolution of Business Group collaboration and investment in Enterprise Alliances
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience engaging with senior executives. A strong candidate will possess as many of the following skills and experiences as possible;
1. Strong business development and/ or enterprise sales experience
2. Experience negotiating investments with partners and BGs
3. Strong understanding of Services Companies and Independent Software Vendor business models
4. Strong understanding of Microsoft’s Unified Communications & Collaboration software and competitive strategy
5. Exceptional problem solving and strategic thinking skills
6. Strong program management and communication skills
7. Proven competency to collaborate cross organizations, deal with ambiguity and driving impact without direct authority
8. Ability to quickly assimilate concepts from various sources and disseminate key findings to stakeholders.
9. Comfort with envisioning and evangelizing concepts to internal and external stakeholders
Some strategy consulting experience and an MBA
Skills
Looking for someone with prior sr level BDM experience working with partners or channels with strong knowledge in UC & Collaboration, Exchange, OCS, SharePoint, etc. Looking for strong business modeling, strategizing, negotiating, and execution experience.
