Job Description
Be a part of one of the most exciting areas within Microsoft, the Office Real-Time Collaboration Group (RTCG) - one of Microsoft’s major growth bets. As a Product Technology Specialist you will evangelize the business value of the Microsoft Real Time Collaboration Products & Services and help drive knowledge of core RTC products, including Live Meeting, Live Communications Server, Office Communicator, etc. Provide pre-sales technical support to enable customers and partners to develop, deploy, and support RTC solutions based on the Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP client architectures. Help drive sales with deep technical expertise, effective sales and presentation skills, and superior customer focus.

Position Responsibilities: The candidate will act as a technical or business resource helping customers evaluate the business value of the Microsoft Real Time Collaboration Products & Services and help drive deployment of existing sales. Day to day responsibilities will include product presentations and software demonstrations on-site at customer locations, and one-to-many presentations at Microsoft and partner events. You will need a mixture of analysis, business acumen, experience, and judgment to make high level decisions assisting software solutions through the sales process. You will be responsible for doing small proof-of-concepts projects proving Microsoft’s capabilities meeting customer’s requirements. The candidate will work with the existing TS team to create and execute a business plan to ensure the district RTC revenue goals are met and exceeded in the assigned geographic area. The candidate will also work on virtual teams, consisting of Sales Representatives, Partners, Microsoft Consulting Services and Marketing to meet customer needs.

Skills
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of related experience. Strong knowledge of competitive Real Time Collaboration Products & Services/tools. Bachelors degree in relevant discipline required, MCSE desirable. In addition the ideal candidate must have an in-depth understanding of Networking Concepts, Active Directory, IIS, Group policy, WMI, PKI, etc. Must possess strong negotiation, organizational, creative, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills. Candidates should also have significant experience delivering persuasive presentations to both technical and business decision makers; possess strong virtual teaming abilities, exceptional leadership skills, and have a strong commitment to customer service. Candidates should also have deep understanding of Microsoft .NET strategy and associated technologies, knowledgeable in strategic planning, risk analysis and business justification.

Travel required: Approximately 20%
