Shanghai. April 16. INTERFAX-CHINA - Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., a
China-based telecom equipment provider, has released its first
telepresence system, the ViewPoint Telepresence 3006, the company
announced on April 14.
The company has shipped more than 3,000 high-definition telepresence
terminals to date.
Telepresence systems aim to give users the impression that they are
actually present in remotely-conducted conversations. Such systems
usually involve the use of multiple microphones, speakers, high-
definition monitors and cameras.
According to a report by CCID Consulting, high-definition video
conference solutions appeared in 2005, and attracted many high-end users
such as financial departments, government bodies and utility companies
in 2006 and 2007. With the appearance of telepresence and some more
